
An entrepreneur who co-founded three companies prior to joining academia, he has been an active angel investor in more than a dozen tech start-ups in Silicon Valley, Singapore, China and India. He was a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at U.C. Berkeley, a visiting scholar at Stanford University, a senior visiting scholar at Oxford University, and a Pacific Leadership Fellow at UCSD. He received a Public Administration Medal (Silver) from the Singapore Government in 2013, and the “Entrepreneur for the World” Award (Educator Category) from the World Entrepreneurship Forum in 2015.

He earns a bachelor degree in Economics from the Universitas Sebelas Maret Surakarta in 1983, Master of Science, Business Administration from University of Illinois in 1993, and Master of Financial Economics from the University of Loughborough in 1999. He succeeded in bringing his Ph. D in Banking Finance from Loughborough University in 1999.
His professional experience began with working at Bank Indonesia as Bank Auditor Staff in 1990 and has had a brilliant career with important roles.
